     A Season's Travels 2010

This year, I traveled extensively with paintbrush in hand, both locally and through several states. I stayed with friends or by myself in friends homes or in apartments or cottages. Closest to home (about a mile!), I was taken by the Noack Organ Company building and painted it on its day of celebration - an open house to see the new organ, which was too big to fit inside! The organ had to be viewed in pieces. I painted in the central plaza of Newburyport and plan to do more of that. In Rockport, MA, I almost put down roots, painting the small shops and buildings, along with the iconic Motif #1. I love York, Maine and return frequently to the Hancock Wharf, located next to the George Marshall Gallery: both are significant historic buildings. In August, I went South, traveling in North Carolina, where I had a lovely home to myself on the side of the mountain, and you can view the driveway entering, the porch where I mused and wrote and ate, and the gorgeous view of the mountains, the continually changing sky, and the small orchard. September took me to Maine. The large number of sea and sky paintings from Goose Rocks Beach will be shown in May in Marblehead, but you can enjoy two pieces I painted of the Cape Porpoise cove. The big painting finale was my October trip to Vermont. In spite of wind (too strong to put the easel up!), rain, and lots of tourists, I completed several pieces on display. The Calvin Coolidge Homestead in Plymouth VT, was wonderful, full of gorgeous long range views and historic buildings.

Come along with me by viewing my paintings!
